Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 July 2026. This page is maintained by DēpART Consultancy, the operator of ɔkom, to explain in plain English what data we collect and why.

What data we collect

Organisation listings — name, description, address, website and sector, sourced from public information or submitted by the organisation itself.
User account data — your email address, saved organisations, saved maps and notification preferences.
Member account data — name, role, organisation and email of people managing a listing on behalf of an organisation.
Location data — only when you explicitly grant your browser's geolocation permission for the Nearby feature. We do not store your location. It is used in-session only and discarded when you leave.
Anonymous usage data — which pages are visited and which features are used, with no names attached.
Ago post engagement — saves and calendar adds, aggregated and anonymised for member dashboards.

Why we collect it

To operate the directory and map.
To provide saved collections and personal maps.
To allow organisations to manage their own listings.
To send notifications you have opted into.
To provide member organisations with anonymised audience insights.

Who we share it with

Nobody. We do not sell data. We do not share personal data with brand partners or third parties. Aggregate anonymised insights are provided to member organisations but contain no personally identifiable information.

How long we keep it

User accounts — until you request deletion.
Member accounts — until the organisation requests removal.
Location data — not stored. Discarded after each session.
Usage analytics — retained for 12 months in aggregate form only.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Right to access your data.
Right to correct inaccurate data.
Right to delete your account and associated data.
Right to withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@okom.club. You can also delete your account and all associated data yourself from your saved area.

Database rights notice

ɔkom's directory is protected under UK database rights. Unauthorised extraction, scraping or reproduction of substantial parts of the directory is prohibited. For licensing enquiries contact chantel@departco.net.

Cookies

ɔkom uses essential cookies only, to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not embed third-party ad tags.
